Kathy Gavin lives in Elliott Bay near Sandpoint, Idaho. Her
studio over looks the beautiful
lake Pend d' Oreille and the Monarch Mountains. This is where her
inspiration starts. The views from her studio are ever changing, not
only from day to day but sometimes minute to minute!
She has had the fortunate experience of living for extended periods
in Europe, Australia and Hawaii. An avid traveler, she has studied original
paintings by many of the great artists. Her greatest influence
has come from the Impressionistic era paintings of Monet, Degas, Renoir,
Toulouse Lautrec, and Van Gogh.
Kathy worked as a nurse and nurse practitioner most of her life. She
owned and operated her own medical clinic and medical spa. She
started painting part time in 2004 while she continued to work in the
medical field. In 2012 she retired from her successful medical
career to paint full time.
She has studied under Elaine Amsterdam Farley, Jean Chambers, Glen
Grishkoff, Ron Hicks, Mike Malm, Albin Veselka and Daniel Edmondson.
It has been under the study of Daniel Edmondson that her paintings have
come to life!!
She has collectors in Washington, Idaho, California, Switzerland,
